Beautiful,
I just looked at some pictures and it might be a newly emerged one. There is a picture on the Net just like that. The females go green eventually and the males have blue particularly on the tail.

Dorothy it could be, apparently they're quite common but i've never seen one this still before. DH went out to cut the hedge and this was basking there, stayed for ages and only moved when he finally started to cut the other end of the hedge.
Suppose the body was about 10cm long Helen, maybe a bit more.
